Hi all!

I am going to interview a few artists. These interviews will be more than just "how do you make this & how do you get that effect". It will be an attempt to understand the artists mind & an effort to understand the creative process more than just the technical aspect of it. Also, as dA is a community, we'd like to know our fellow artists better.

The first one I have contacted is =miiiiirellaaaaaaaaaa. I love the fact that she makes an effort to experiment and usually comes up with gorgeous work.

If you have any questions, please let me know, any random thought that comes to your head. Will be a huge help in framing the questions. You can be kept anonymous if you like. I will be interviewing a few artists so if you have any favorite artists you'd like interviewed, please let me know.

Aww thankyou so much, i really appreciate it. I'd love to be able to ask you so much about your work, it really is amazing and so inspiring. One thing i've noticed in some of your work, is the way you change a model to look almost painted. For example in "Weight of the Wait" (which is one my favourite pieces by you, it's beautiful) the girls face looks like you've painted it, but when i look at the pic you used it's a photograph. Any advice you could give on achieving this? or any tutorials you could recommend would be greatly appreciated. I'm still very new to digital art, so any words of wisdom you can offer would be great. I don't expect to be great without a lot of learning and practice, so i'd love to learn from someone like yourself. Sorry this is such a long message, but thankyou for being so approachable. Keep up the great work! :D

To get the painted effect, I smudge the skin with a brush that kind of looks like sponge in Photoshop CS5 with a strength of about 7-10%. It also involves a bit of painting over, and using different blending modes for the blue that is on the face. Hope this helps. :)
