This is a simple, yet strong piece that needs a book title right over that dapper gentleman's head. I really like the atmosphere you've created around him, and the aura of magic and mystery that makes him "larger than life". There are a few things I'd like to point out that I feel would make the piece stronger.

I appreciate that you took perspective into consideration, and added the branches and falling snow as blurred elements. However, I think it isn't enough to show the 3-dimensionality of the scene. If there were some snowflakes and branches that were both 1/2 in focus and totally in focus, then it would create layers going from the foreground to the background. It wouldn't be just blurred branches up front, blurred tress in the back; it would be a full 360 environment that surrounds the figure.

Another thing I noticed is that the halo surrounding his shoulders is a different color than the halo around his head. I am not certain if this is intentional or if it was an error, but it looks a bit strange. Don't get me wrong, the halo "glow" is done very well, but the shift in color is certainly curious.

And lastly, the light on his face seems a bit too powerful. If the light was really that strong behind him, then I feel his face would have much more shadow on it. I think it would be interesting to see how it looks with darker shadows on his face and his eyes glowing much brighter.

All in all, however, this is definitely a wonderful piece. Your blending of the various elements is superb, and the attention to detail is impressive.
